Definition and Usage

The getFullYear() method returns a four-digit number that represents a year.

Syntax

dateObject.getFullYear()


Tips and Notes

Note: This method is always used in conjunction with a Date object.

Example

In this example we get the current year and print it:

document.write(d.getFullYear());

The output of the code above will be:

2012


Example 2

Here we will extract the year out of the specific date:
