JavaScript setUTCMonth() Method

Definition and Usage

The setUTCMonth() method is used to set the month according to Universal Coordinated Time (UTC).

Syntax

dateObject.setUTCMonth(month,day)

Parameter Description
month Required. A numeric value between 0 and 11 representing the month
dayn Optional. A numeric value between 1 and 31 representing the day


Tips and Notes

Note: The value set by setUTCMonth() is a number between 0 and 11. January is 0, February is 1 and so on.
Tip: The Universal Coordinated Time (UTC) is the time set by the World Time Standard.

Example 1

In this example we set the month to 0 (January) with the setUTCMonth() method:

The output of the code above will be:

Wed Jan 11 2012 14:56:38 GMT+0530 (India Standard Time)


Example 2

In this example we set the month to 0 (January) and the day to 20 with the setUTCMonth() method:
